GreenLight
Décor from recycled materials — a real startup where I ran the technology.

My Role
Deputy team lead for technology (1 of 5). I shaped the idea, built the online store and the system behind it, and helped take the product to market.

The Problem
Waste materials pile up while decorative goods are bought new. GreenLight asked whether recycling and reuse could be a business, not just a slogan — a small, concrete step toward a circular economy.
What I Built
As the team's technology lead, I built the online store and the system behind it — product catalog, orders and the back office — so a school project could actually sell to real customers rather than just pitch a deck.
Why It Matters
GreenLight taught me to connect three things I care about — computer science, real customers and sustainability (the SDGs). Running a business that had to ship real products was a harder, more honest test than any pitch.

What I Learned
- A small number of real, paying customers teaches more than a large imagined market.
- Sustainability only counts when someone will actually pay for it.
